Attempt Supervisor can import and count contact attempts from external sources. Contact attempts of this type correspond to the external channel types in the Attempt Supervisor rule configuration. See the Defining Rules section in this guide for more information about channel types.

For example, to count letters towards the maximum number of attempts to contact a consumer, you can export the number of letters sent for each account from your system of record, and place the letters in your SFTP folder. Attempt Supervisor can then retrieve the data. You can also configure Attempt Supervisor to include the external counts on rules.
