Microsoft Teams - Direct Routing (SIP Trunk) Integration

Direct Routing with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a Microsoft Teams feature that allows organizations to integrate their existing phone systems, such as LiveVox's Private Branch Exchange (LV PBX), with Microsoft Teams to manage phone calls. With this integration, you can place and receive phone calls directly through the Teams application, eliminating the need for traditional hard phones.

To place and receive phone calls using Teams, you must:

  • Ensure that your Teams subscription includes a Microsoft Teams Phone Standard license.
  • Register an MS Teams domain name for your organization.
  • Obtain a signed session border controller (SBC) certificate from DigiCert Global Root G2.
  • Purchase work phone numbers for all your users.

You can purchase and provision work phone numbers on the LV PBX portal.

  • Configure direct routing on MS Teams.

On successful integration with your phone system, click the Call icon on Teams to access a dial pad. This dial pad allows you to dial and initiate phone calls.
