The Attempt Supervisor can import and count contact attempts from external sources. Contact attempts of this type correspond to the external channel types in the Attempt Supervisor rule configuration. See the Defining Rules section in this guide for more information about channel types.

For example, to count letters towards the maximum number of attempts to contact a consumer, you can export the number of letters sent for each account from your system of record, place these letters in your SFTP folder, and the Attempt Supervisor can retrieve them. The Attempt Supervisor includes the external counts on rules that are configured to do so.
