Importing Contacts

Contact Manager enables you to import new contact records into LiveVox.

Before You Begin

Ensure that a file containing the contacts that you want to import has been created in your local directory.

To import contacts:

  1. In Contact Manager, on the Contacts tab, click Import.
    The
     Import Contacts window appears.

  2. Specify values in the following fields:

    • File: Click the upload icon to select the file that you want to import.

    • File Format: Select a file format for the import.

      For information about file formats or creating input filter layouts to be used for import in Contact Manager, see Creating an Input Filter.

  3. To specify additional columns and the format of the file to be imported, click Configure Custom Format.

    • Configure Custom Format enables you to also configure the mapping of the contact columns for the import. You can save and utilize the filter again if required.
    • When customizing the import file, the Account contact field is mandatory.


    The Contact Columns window appears.

  4. Specify values in the following fields as required:
    • Header in file: If you want a header to be included in the imported file, select this checkbox.
    • File Format: Select the format of the file from which you want to import the contacts.
    • Allow Empty: If you want null values to be allowed in the fields, select this checkbox.
    • Truncate: If you want the field values to be shortened if their length exceeds the size limit of the fields, select this checkbox. 

      • You can map additional columns by using Add.
      • You can delete the columns that are not required by using Delete.
      • You can save your changes to the format as an input filter by using Save As Input.


  5. Click Ok, and then click Import.

Exporting Contacts

Contact Manager enables you to export contact records from LiveVox into a file.

To export contacts:

  1. In Contact Manager, on the Contacts tab, click Export.
    The 
    Export Contacts window appears. The Filter Name field displays the name of the filter selected in the Search drop-down list box on the Contacts tab in Contact Manager.

  2. To specify additional columns and the format of the file to be exported, click Adjust Export Columns.
    The Contact Columns window appears.

  3. Specify values in the following fields as required:
    • Header in file: If you want a header to be included in the exported file, select this checkbox.
    •  File Format: Select the format of the file to which you want to export the contacts.

      • You can map additional columns by using Add.
      • You can delete the columns that are not required by using Delete.
  4. Click Ok, and then click Export.
