The CID Package section is where the Caller ID (CID) packages, if assigned, are displayed. The package may contain a list of toll free numbers, local caller ID numbers or a combination of both, any one of which (depending on geography) is designed to be displayed on a call recipient’s caller ID. When the customer dials back on the number displayed, the number is routed to the corresponding inbound service.
The CID packages containing only local caller ID numbers may contain up to 300+ phone numbers which are local to the area (depending on geography), or near-local area to the customer which you are dialing. It covers 100+ major areas. The major areas may vary in each package based on what is available to the system from the carriers. There are typically 3 phone numbers assigned for each of the 100+ major areas.
To see which services have the option of using a package, select a package from the Package(s) drop down and view the services under the Service Mapping tab. If Package(s) drop down is blank, you have no packages assigned to your site.
