The Settings tab contains the collapsible Categories and Sections sections, which contain categories and sections, respectively, to group articles. Each section contains a table with the following columns:

  • Order: Contains a number that indicates the position of the category or section as it appears in the respective filter drop-down list boxes on the KB portal.
  • Name: Contains the name of the category or section.
  • Del: Contains the delete icon to delete the category or section.

Creating a Category

To create a category:

  1. On the Configure tab, click Knowledge Base > Config.
    The  Knowledge Base Config window displaying the Knowledge Portals and Settings tabs appears.
  2. On the Settings tab, in the Categories section, click New.
    The New category window appears.
  3. Enter a value in the following field: Please enter a category name.
  4. Click Save.
    The category is created, and it appears in the table in the Categories section.

  • You can modify the name of the category within the row in the table.
  • You can modify the order of the category by using the drag-and-drop operation within the table.
  • You can filter the categories based on their names by entering the partial or full name in the search box that appears below the category title.
  • You can delete the category by using the delete icon in the row containing the category.


Creating a Section

To create a section:

  1. On the Configure tab, click Knowledge Base > Config.
    The Knowledge Base Config window displaying the Knowledge Portals and Settings tabs appears.
  2. On the Settings tab, in the Sections section, in the drop-down list box that appears below the section title, select the category for which you want to create a section.
  3. Click New.
    The New section window appears.
  4. Enter a value in the following field: Please enter a section name.
  5. Click Save.
    The category is created for the section, and it appears in the table in the Sections section.

  • You can modify the name of the section within the row in the table.
  • You can modify the order of the section by using the drag-and-drop operation within the table.
  • You can filter the sections based on their names by entering the partial or full name in the search box that appears below the section title.
  • You can delete the section by using the delete icon in the row containing the section.
