titleEditing Messages

Individual components are edited using different "Properties."  Many common properties are explained on the Message Properties Supplemental page. You can edit messages from the General tab or within the visualizer (Visual tab).

  1. Double-click the property value to be adjusted to open the Phrase Selector. The Phrase Selector screen appears.
  2. Modify the existing phrase using the options from the Phrase Selector:
    • Add Phrase – Adds a new phrase
    • Add Variable – Add a new variable to a new or existing phrase
    • Change – Replace the selected phrase
    • Remove – Removes selected phrase
    • Move up – Moves selected phrase up one space
    • Move down – Moves selected phrase down one space

LiveVox created phrases with numeric file names starting with 1_, as displayed in the Quick Message Edit box, playing only the visible phrase. Phrases with something other than 1_ will play the phrase and then a database location. These are Series prompts.  Use a 1_ series (or your custom audio) followed by a variable from the Add Variable UI to get the same effect.

After the messaging changes are complete, click the OK button. The new phrase is in green color. Before using the new messages, the Message must be processed with the following:

  • Save
  • Validate (Confirms recordings available).
  • Deploy (Compiles recordings into a string and assigns a new string to Message).

If a new Message was created to keep from impacting other services, assign the new Message before testing. Open the Services section and go to the Messaging tab. Double-click the Message's Property value, select the new Message from the drop-down, tap the Enter key, and click Save.

To delete the selected message, click the Delete button.
